Pico Island Full Day Tour

This tour starts with a visit to the admirable Landscape of Vineyard Culture, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, passing through Criação Velha. The route continues to São Mateus, where there will be a visit to the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus Milagroso in the Church of São Mateus, one of the oldest on the island. This will be followed by a visit to a handicrafts centre. On to Lajes do Pico - the first place on the island to be populated - where there will be a visit to the Whalers' Museum (closed on Mondays). The next place to visit is Lagoa do Capitão, one of the best known and largest lagoons on Pico. From here you can enjoy an enchanting view over the town of São Roque, Pico Mountain and the island of São Jorge. Descending to the town of São Roque, it's time to visit the Arcos do Cachorro area, where you can see magnificent sea caves. Return to the town of Madalena.
